Hej hej, The Melodifestivalen semifinals are getting closer, how do you feel right now?
Really good. We're very stoked to be one of the 32 participants. A little nervous too, maybe.

Lets start talking about the band, what can you tell me about it? how did you meet each other? when did you start playing together?
The band was formed in 2009 by Timmy and Simon, who met in school. John, Joakim and Adam joined later on.
How would you describe the band?
As a couple of really close friends who love making music and playing together. We work really well as a group and we all have our strengths which we use to complement each other.

Tell us about the name of the band:
The name refers to the same effect the trigger of a gun has when pulled - a massive explosion of some kind, which we thought described our sound quite well.
You are one of the 32 participants in Melodifestivalen 2014, how did it all begin?
It all started when we were about to release a single in early 2013, but realised that Melodifestivalen stole all the attention in mass media and in the music business in general - so we simply decided to record a cover of whoever won the competition here in Sweden. We posted it a couple of days later, and we got lots of views and people started contacting us just hours after releasing the video. One of them was songwriter Linnea Deb, whom we kept in touch with and decided to have a writing session with. Her husband Joy and another songwriter named Anton Malmberg Hård af Segerstad (whom we had been in touch with earlier) joined, and we met several times in Stockholm for writing sessions, and in that way "Echo" took its shape. It was actually one of the first songs we wrote together.
"Echo" is the title of your song and its written by part of the "You" team (Joy & Linnéa Deb) and Anton Malmberg Hård Af Segerstad (Such a hard name, does he has a nickname?) How did you feel working with them?
We just call him Anton, haha. It was an amazing experience on so many levels. Mainly because of their different approach to song writing in general - they really write hits like there's no end to it, and we felt very honoured to get to work with someone who makes a living by writing music. It was also very exciting to combine our way of writing metal with their pop-expertise, and believe it or not - it went surprisingly well.
Lets talk about the song, whats the story behind it? what is the song about?
The song is about standing up for yourself, even when you're all alone and no one is there to help you. We've described it as a "käftsmäll", which means getting punched really hard in the face, haha. So you know what to expect.

What did you think the 1st time you heard it?
After recording the first pre-prod version of the song, we listened to it way too many times on our way home from Stockholm, which is a 6 hour drive.
Describe the song with 4 words:
Heavy, huge, melodious and of course, "Käftsmäll"

What can you tell me about the performance? what can we expect to see on stage?
This one we want to keep secret, but expect something different. We always put 110% into our live performances, and of course that goes for Melodifestivalen as well.
What do you think about the other artists on semifinal 3?
Very interesting - a great combo of debutants and veterans. We're very excited to hear all the other songs.

Did you watch eurovision 2013? Any favourite?
Of course! Robin Stjernberg is hard to beat!
What do you like about Eurovision?
That there is room for so many different genres. The whole concept just gives off this feeling of open-mindedness, which is great. We also love the fact that heavier music gets more and more space.

Give me the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word:
2013: Our best year (so far)
Fangirling: Something we want to experience, haha
Melodi nummer ett: Nervousness
Watermelon: Tasty
IKEA: Every Swede's favourite spot to hang out
Racoon: It's some kind of animal, isn't it?
Bed: A great place to sleep
Fear: Breaking a drum stick or a guitar string during a gig
Robin Stjernberg: What a guy!
Stage: Comfort, well-being
Nature: Trees
Sweden: Faluröd
Apart from Melodifestivalen, what are your plans for 2014?
Playing as many gigs as we can, write a lot of music, releasing a full-length album
Is there anything you want to say to close the interview?
Thank you!
